White Sands, New Mexico

White Sands, New Mexico is actually interesting, even though it's a National Park. The sand there is not really sand. It's gypsum. They don't tell you that when you go there. Being a National Park they don't tell you shit. They just kick you in the ass to get inside and that's the end of it. Then if you're not back in time they go find you and kick you out, and if they don't find you - since they don't look that hard, or do anything else with any real effort - then you stay in there and die. And if you don't die, and they find you, they put you in prison. It's great. It's the Park System. Where was I. Oh, yeah, White Sands. White Sands is actually White Gypsum. Except it's not really white. It's more a kind of light butter pecan. But if you take pictures of it it looks white. Gypsum is pretty cool stuff, sociologically speaking and literally. It never gets hot even though it might be and usually is boiling out. It doesn't even get warm. It's fucking great. You don't sink into it when you walk on it either. Which is also fucking great. You dig into it, about a half inch down it's compact and almost cold and like a kind of hard cloddy substance. If you go where the Park WANTS you to go there is a kind of path that has little signboards with "Katy the Kitfox" speaking to you in baby language about lizards and bugs and things and stuff, and stuff and things, you know? But not one fucking word about gypsum; why it's there in billions of square miles; and where it came from; and anything else about this mystery stuff in all this abundance in the middle of nowhere. No, rather you get to hear Katy the idiot kitfox reetard talk to you about how important it is to do this, and that, and protect this from you, and to protect that from you, and you're all fucked up, and you are destroying life on planet earth. Jesus. And you pay to have all this fucking abuse heaped on you at "your" National Park. Why?...cause you're a fucking idiot, that's why.
