The Real Reason The Beatles Were Popular
I don't mean to shock anyone but it wasn't actually the music. It was the way they talked to the press. Nobody had talked to the press "for real" before. The Beatles were the first "astoundingly famous" people to talk to the press as though, One: the press was made up of idiots, and, Two; the public did not want to hear serioous answers to imbecilic questions. Most likely it was John Lennon who led the pack in this approach. He, unlike most entertainers, actually had an IQ. It was a commie IQ but it was an IQ. Paul McCartney was gifted with comedy, which he has since completely lost. George Harrison was a completely introverted and contented person who had nothing really to say, since he too knew the questions froom the press were always retarded, and ringo was just going to go along with whatever was going on because he was the luckiest fucking man on earth and he had the good sense to realize it. It was their seeming indifference to their fame and their apparent eager willingness to dare the press to pummel them into the ground that won everybody over. Not the singing. And not the songs. A LOT of bands had LOTS of good songs. But they didn't have John Lennon talking to the press. Only the Beatles had him.
