Dinosaurs and Oil revisited

I asked a different person who said that oil comes from dinosaurs if the species of the dinosaur in question had any role to play in the formation of petroleum; for instance would an allosaurus make more Marfak than, say, a stegosaurus. He said he didn't know what any of those things were, including the Marfak, but that as far as he knew all the dinosaurs played an equal role in the production of oil. I asked him how far down into the earth a dinosaur had to go before the change started to occur. He said he believed at least a thousand feet.
